I love the matcha craze because it inspired Sipping T, a photo of a Black woman sipping her tea and minding her business. This world is truly crazy, and Black women have done all we can do to help. That is why I created this woman drinking her latte/tea/chai and just going about her life. I also wanted to bring in some natural elements: plants, vines, and grass to show her being in peace, but touching grass, because let’s be honest, we need a break from socials. This piece encourages the viewer to go to their local coffee shop and get a bev and meet someone new for the day.
