Back in 2017, when I started my solo shows, someone said what if you started to incorporate more boys and men into your artwork and I thought, what a great idea! There's such a shortage of male Black characters and I'd love to create a piece of a young boy with eyes full of wonder. Blue Hoodie represents the hope, excitement, and love all little Black boys should have and carry into adulthood.
